
Buckeyes Capture Four Event Titles at the USF Invite This Weekend

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Buckeyes finalized the USF Invite on Saturday, tallying four wins, nine top three finishes and 10 broken personal records.

The Buckeyes swept the 4x100m relay competition, winning on both the men's and women's sides. The men's team (Marcus Brown, Nazzio John, Nick Biega and Denzell Feagin) recorded a time of 39.98 seconds, while the women (Bobbi Olive, Leah Bertrand, Janela Spencer and Fatuma Conde) finished with a time of 44.89 seconds. Feagin was also the champion of the men's 100m with a time of 10.23 seconds. In the women's 100m hurdles, Spencer came in first place with a time of 12.99 seconds.

Braxton Brann finished with the second-best time of 13.65 seconds in the men's 110m hurdles, good for a personal record. Brann's previous best of 13.69 seconds was earned in the 2024 NCAA East first round. Michaela McCall's 400m time of 53.19 seconds was the second-best performance of the day and set a personal record for her. Bertrand tacked on another runner-up finish for the Buckeyes after posting a 200m time of 23.11 seconds. Noah Carmichael placed third with a time of 46.83 seconds in the men's 400m. The women's 4x400 relay team (Conde, McCall, Olivia Powell and Bertrand) also finished third, earning a time of 3:39.61.

Eight more personal records were broken, including Malik Mixon (110m hurdles, 14.35), Mason Louis (men's 400m, 48.02), Brown (men's 100m, 10.36), Biega (men's 200m, 20.82), John (men's 200m, 20.85), Nicole Grimes (women's pole vault, 3.90m/12-09.50). Olive (women's 100m, 11.46) and Powell (women's 400m hurdles, 1:00.72). Mixon's, Olive's and Powell's previous personal records all came from the USF Invite three weeks ago – 14.99 seconds, 11.70 seconds and 1:01.01, respectively.

Saturday, April 12
- Women's pole vault: Sophie Fong finished fifth after clearing 4.10m/13-05.25 on her first attempt, tying her personal best (USF invite, Friday, March 21). Morgan Fijalkowski had the seventh-best height clearance of 4.00m/13-01.50, which she earned on her first attempt. Grimes rounded out the Buckeyes with a new personal best of 3.90m/12-09.50, beating out her clearance of 3.86m/12-08.00 at the Big Ten indoor championships.
- Men's pole vault: Daniel Edwards tied for eighth with a height clearance of 5.01m/16-05.25. He bypassed the first two heights before clearing 4.86m/15-11.25, then cleared 5.01m on his third attempt.

Saturday, April 12
- Women's 4x100 relay: Olive, Bertrand, Spencer and Conde placed first in 44.89 seconds.
- Women's 100m hurdles: Spencer was the champion with a time of 12.99, tying her personal best that came at the 2024 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
- Women's 400m: McCall had the second-best time of 53.19 seconds, good for a new PR. Her previous personal best of 54.45 seconds came from the Stan Scott Invite and Multis earlier this year.
- Women's 100m: Olive finished in 11.46 seconds, tying for sixth. She set a new personal best with her previous record (11.70) happening at the USF Invite a few weeks ago. Conde placed ninth with a time of 11.53 seconds.
- Women's 400m hurdles: Powell finished fourth overall (1:00.72), setting a new personal record. Her last record of 1:01.01 was set at the USF Invite that took place earlier this outdoor season.
- Women's 200m: Bertrand landed in second place with a time of 23.11 seconds.
- Women's 4x400 relay: Conde, McCall, Powell and Bertrand finished third (3:39.61).
- Men's 4x100 relay: Brown, John, Biega and Feagin collectively won the event with a time of 39.38 seconds.
- Men's 110m hurdles: Brann (second, 13.65) and Mixon (11th, 14.35) each set personal records. Brann trimmed off 0.04 seconds from last year's NCAA East first round time of 13.69 seconds. Mixon shaved 0.64 seconds off of his old PR, 14.99 seconds, from the USF meet three weeks ago.
- Men's 400m: Carmichael placed third with a time of 46.83 seconds, while Louis hit a new PR of 48.02 seconds. Louis beat out his old best 48.83 seconds, which he set at the Stan Scott Invite this past indoor season.
- Men's 100m: Feagin won the event with a time of 10.23 seconds. Brann landed fourth (10.32) and Brown was sixth with a new personal record of 10.36 seconds. Brown's old PR was set at the 2024 Penn Relays, where he notched a time of 10.51 seconds.
- Men's 400m hurdles: Mixon finished with a time of 56.43 seconds.
- Men's 200m: Biega (sixth, 20.82) and John (seventh, 20.85) finished back-to-back, and each picked up new personal records. Biega's old PR was his 2025 Indoor Big Ten's time of 21.02 seconds, while John's previous record of 21.12 seconds came during the Indoor Big Ten's a year prior.
- Men's 4x400 relay: Ohio State's relay team finished with the fourth-best time of 3:10.30.
