ARLINGTON, Texas – The Ohio State baseball team (1-6) was shut out by Auburn (9-1), 13-0, in seven innings on Friday at Globe Life Field.

Game Recap

Trey Lipsey had the first hit of the game for the Buckeyes, hitting a lead-off single into right field in the bottom of the first inning.
Auburn got on the board early, taking an 8-0 lead after an RBI single, a sac fly, a bases-loaded walk, a three-RBI double and two RBI doubles in the top of the second inning.
In the bottom of the third with two outs, Lipsey reached base after being hit by a pitch. Lee Ellis then singled through the left side to put two runners on for the Buckeyes, but they were both stranded.
An RBI single and an RBI groundout in the top of the fourth added two more runs for the Tigers and put them ahead of the Buckeyes, 10-0.
In the top of the fifth, the Tigers scored on a wild pitch to extend their lead, 11-0, and two RBI singles in the top of the sixth put them ahead, 13-0.
The Buckeyes went down in order in the sixth and seventh and Auburn earned the 13-0 run-rule victory.

Buckeyes by the Numbers

Lipsey and Ellis each had one hit.
Drew Erdmann (0-1) took the loss on the mound. He struck out one and allowed eight runs on five hits in 1.2 innings pitched.
Gavin Kuzniewski and Tannis Lange each had one strikeout.
Spencer Hill tossed a clean seventh inning in his Ohio State debut.
