Buckeyes Conclude Day One of Jim West Challenge

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's golf team finished the opening day of the Jim West Challenge in tenth place after two rounds Monday.
Nellie Ong leads the Buckeyes on the individual leaderboard, currently holding 6th place after two rounds of play. Ong recorded six birdies—three of which came consecutively—to post a 68 following her opening-round 73. Her consistency and composure throughout the day helped her move up the standings, and she now sits 3-under-par heading into the final round of the tournament.
Kary Hollenbaugh turned in a steady performance during the second round, shooting even par after opening with a 74 (+2). Sophie Eppelstun followed with rounds of 72 and 76 to finish the day at +4. Matilde Santilli carded rounds of 79 and 80 (+15), while Marina Joyce-Moreno finished with scores of 77 and 85 (+18) as the team wrapped up the first day of play.
Ohio State will play the third and final round on Monday to conclude the tournament.
