PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Ohio State baseball team (28-24, 12-12 Big Ten) fell to Rutgers (28-25, 6-18 Big Ten), 12-1, in seven innings in the final game of the regular season on Saturday.
The Buckeyes have clinched a spot in Omaha for the Big Ten Tournament for the first time since 2019, which was also the last season Ohio State won a Big Ten championship. This is the first Big Ten Tournament for head coach Bill Mosiello and will be the first time in Omaha for the entire Buckeye squad.

- Trey Lipsey walked to lead off the game and with one out, Matthew Graveline was also walked to put two runners on, but they were both stranded.
- Mitchell Okuley walked to lead off the second inning, but the next three Buckeyes went down in order.
- The Scarlet Knights struck first, taking a 7-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning after a solo home run, an RBI single, two scores on a wild pitches and a three-run homer.
- With two outs in the top of the third, Matthew Graveline his his second home run of the week, bouncing it right ff the top of the wall to cut the Rutgers lead to six, 7-1.
- In the bottom of the third, the Scarlet Knights extended their lead, 10-1, after another three-run home run.
- Base runners reached for the Buckeyes in the fifth and sixth, but none were able to score.
- In the bottom of the sixth, two bases-loaded walks extended the Rutgers lead, 12-1.
- Graveline had the lone hit and RBI of the day for the Buckeyes.
- Justin Eckhardt (0-3) took the loss on the mound. He allowed four runs on three hits in 1.1 innings pitched.
- Jacob Morin fanned three in 1.0 inning of relief.
- The Buckeyes head to Omaha for the Big Ten Tournament May 21-26. Seeds and matchups will be determined after the conclusion of regular season play.
