Buckeyes Win Back-and-Forth Game Against Wright State

Game Recap
- The Raiders struck first, taking a 4-0 lead over the Buckeyes in the top of the first inning after a score on a fielder's choice and a three-run home run.
- In the bottom of the first with one out on the board, Henry Kaczmar and Matthew Graveline hit back-to-back singles. Tyler Pettorini stepped up to the plate next and he homered over the wall in right field to leave the Buckeyes trailing by just one run, 4-3. Mitchell Okuley was walked and, with two outs, Isaac Cadena singled to right field and advanced to second on a Raider error to put two runners in scoring position. A double to center field from Nick Giamarusti scored both runners and gave Ohio State the lead, 5-4. A double from Ryan Miller plated Giamarusti and put the Buckeyes up by two, 6-4.
- Pettorini singled to lead off the bottom of the second and advanced to second base on a wild pitch. Okuley was walked and, with one out, Cadena was hit by a pitch to load the bases. A walk from Giamarusti sent Pettorini home. Miller was up next and he singled to center field to drive in two runs. Back-to-back RBI singled from Trey Lipsey and Kaczmar gave the Buckeyes a seven-run lead, 11-4.
- A two-run home run from Wright State in the top of the third cut the Buckeye lead to five, 11-6.
- In the bottom of the third, Joseph Mershon led off with a single to right field. Cadena then doubled down the right field line to put two runners in scoring position. A groundout from Miller scored Mershon and another RBI single from Lipsey sent Cadena home to put Ohio State back ahead by seven, 13-6.
- Another home run for the Raiders in the top of the fourth plated two runs and put them within five runs of the Buckeyes, 13-8.
- In the top of the sixth, Wright State scored on an RBI single and the Raiders added three more runs in the top of the seventh after a two-RBI double and an RBI single to cut the Buckeye lead to one run, 13-12.
- A solo home run from Wright State in the top of the eighth tied the score, 13-13.
- In the bottom of the eighth, Kaczmar drew a walk and advanced all the way to third on a failed pickoff attempt. A sacrifice fly from Graveline scored Kaczmar to put the Buckeyes back in the lead, 14-13.
- In the bottom of the ninth, closer Justin Eckhardt worked out of a bases-loaded jam to secure the victory for the Buckeyes.
- Lipsey led the Buckeyes with three hits, while Kaczmar, Graveline, Pettorini, Cadena, Giamarusti and Miller each added two.
- Miller led the team in RBIs with a career-high four. Pettorini and Giamarusti each drove in three runs.
- Chase Herrell, Zach Brown, Colin Purcell and Hunter Shaw each struck out two.
- Jacob Morin improved to 4-0; he allowed two runs on three hits in 1.2 innings pitched.
- Eckhardt earned his sixth save of the season. He struck out one in 1.0 inning tossed.
- The Buckeyes play at Kent State at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17.
