Buckeyes Head to No. 1 Northwestern for Saturday Game

As a team ...Â
- The Ohio State women's lacrosse will take on No. 1 Northwestern in a Big Ten game Saturday afternoon.Â
- The Buckeyes and Wildcats will meet at 1 p.m. ET in Martin Stadium in Evanston, Ill. The game will be streamed on B1G+ and live statistics can be linked from OhioStateBuckeyes.com.Â
- Ohio State enters the game 7-6 (1-3 B1G) after a loss at Louisville Tuesday. Northwestern is 11-2 (3-1 B1G) after a road win over Maryland Saturday.
- The game ends a stretch of three straight road games for the Buckeyes, all in a span of nine days.Â
- The Buckeyes and Northwestern met in Columbus last season, with the Wildcats posting a 17-11 win April 15, 2023. In that game, current senior Jamie Lasda had four goals and four assists and current senior goalie Regan Alexander made 15 saves.
- The last game in Evanston was March 19, 2022, when Northwestern won 22-14.
- Northwestern enters the weekend 11-2 on the year and is 3-1 in the B1G, with wins over Johns Hopkins, Rutgers and Maryland and a loss to Penn State in conference play.
- The Wildcats are second nationally in scoring offense, averaging 17.69 goals a game, and allow 10.08 goals per contest. The squad is third in the NCAA in draw controls (18.69) and shots per game (36.62).
- Individually, Madison Taylor (5.46) and Izzy Scane (5.31) are in the Top 11 in the NCAA in points per game. Scane is second nationally with 4.54 goals a game and Erin Coykendall ranks 14th with 2.62 assists per outing.

- The game Saturday closes out three straight road games, with a contest at Cincinnati last Friday and a game at Louisville Tuesday.
- In their last time out, the Buckeyes fell at Louisville, 22-10, Tuesday afternoon. Ohio State trailed 4-2 after the first quarter and 8-6 at the half. The Cardinals scored four of the first five goals in the third quarter to pull away.
- The Buckeyes have faced four opponents who were ranked in the Top 10 at the time of the game so far this year, with current No. 1 Northwestern joining the list Saturday. The current ILWomen/IWLCA rankings of those teams: No. 4 Maryland, No. 6 Michigan, No. 8 Johns Hopkins and No. 13 Denver. . Â
- The Buckeyes are scoring 12.38 goals a game while allowing 11.08 a contest. The squad is averaging 26.85 shots on goal a game and has a .461 shooting percentage. Â
- Senior goalie Regan Alexander, who has double-digit saves in six of the last nine games, is 20th in the NCAA in save percentage (.473).
- Alexander has 416 saves in her 48-game Buckeye career, ranking fifth in school history.Â
- Senior Jamie Lasda had a career-high 11 draw controls at Louisville Tuesday, tying for the fifth-most in a single game by a Buckeye and the most draw controls for a Buckeye since Chloe Johnson had 11 at Johns Hopkins April 23, 2022. Lasda has 24 draw controls in the last three games combined and is first on the team with a career-best 45.Â
- Lasda also leads the Buckeyes with 35 goals and 41 points, ranking in the Top 11 in the B1G in goals (2.69) and points (3.15) per game. It is her third straight season with at least 40 points. Lasda enters the game at Northwestern on a 19-game scoring streak, with 46 goals, 18 assists and 64 points in the stretch. It is Lasda's career-long point streak, passing the two 13-game stretches she had earlier in her career.
- This season Lasda has multiple points in all but three games, including nine multi-goal outings. In her 55-game Buckeye career, Lasda has 99 goals, 49 assists and 148 points.
- Freshman Kampbell Stone had her first career hat trick against the Cardinals Tuesday, marking her third career multiple-goal outing. The three points marked a season high and she now has 14 goals and 15 points this season. Stone has at least one goal in 10 of her first 13 collegiate games.
- Freshman Kate Tyack has multiple goals and points in each of her last three games, with eight goals and 10 points in the three games combined. She enters the game at Northwestern on a five-game goal streak and has 16 goals and 19 points this season.Â
- Senior Leah Sax is second on the squad in goals (20), with two or more in seven of 13 games, and has been held scoreless just twice. She also has six assists, with three multi-assist days. The senior started the year with one goal and three games played in her first three seasons.Â
- Sophomore Zoe Coleman has at least one point in 11 of 13 games this year and has a career-high 13 goals, 13 assists and 26 points. She has seven multiple-point outings this season, including two goals at Louisville.
- Junior Brynn Ammerman is first for the Buckeyes with 20 assists and ranks second with 37 points, tying for third with 17 goals. She was held scoreless for the first time this season last time out. Ammerman is sixth in the B1G with 1.54 assists per game. She entered the season with a 5-4-9 line in 14 games played over her first two years.
- Junior Annie Hargraves has at least one goal and point in 10 of 13 games this year. Hargraves, who had 13 goals in 2023 in her first season of game action, has 17 goals this season and is second on the team with a career-best 37 draw controls. She has 13 draw controls in the last three games combined and four games with five or more overall. Â Â
- Erin O'Neil, who has started all 13 games on defense, has 14 ground balls and eight caused turnovers on the year. She had six loose balls and five caused turnovers while playing 22 games (with four starts) her first three seasons.Â
- Rookie Audrey Schoemer started the first 13 games on defense and has 10 ground balls and seven caused turnovers. Her classmate Ella Wright joined her as a starter on defense the last four games.Â
- Alexander leads the Buckeyes with 28 ground balls this year and now has 106 in her Buckeye career. Â
- Senior Emily Magalotti, who moved to midfield this season after playing defense in 2023, notched her first collegiate goal at Denver Feb. 23 and then scored twice vs. Butler the following game. She now has seven goals on the year, starting 12 of 13 contests.\
- The regular season home finale is at 6 p.m. next Thursday (April 18) vs. Rutgers on Senior Night. Admission and parking are free.
- The Buckeyes will wrap up the regular season with a nonconference game at Temple April 21.
