COLUMBUS, Ohio – Amani Kimball-McKavish of the women's lacrosse team and Sean Kaminski of the men's track and field team are Ohio State's recipients of 2026 Big Ten Conference Postgraduate Scholarships.
Â
Kaminski graduated this spring with degrees in economics and finance. He recently received the Corwin A. Fergus Memorial Award to continue his education at Ohio State. The four-time OSU Scholar Athlete and three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree was also named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar last year. Kaminski competed at both the indoor and outdoor Big Ten Championships in the high jump and set a new personal-best (2.10m / 6'10.75") in the high jump at the Stan Scott Invite in February.
Â
Kimball-McKavish earned her bachelor's degree in marketing in Spring 2025 and will complete her master's of finance in the fall. She was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 Local Columbus Class of 2025 and has earned Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, Academic All-Big Ten, Ohio State Scholar-Athlete and IWLCA Academic Honor Roll accolades. The winner of Ohio State's Leann Grimes-Davidge Award scholarship this year, she saw action in 56 games as a Buckeye, scoring four goals, picking up 23 ground balls and recording 15 draw controls and 15 caused turnovers.
Â
The Big Ten recognizes two student-athletes from each of the 18 Big Ten member institutions who plan to continue their education at a graduate degree program. The honorees are awarded a $7,500 scholarship, based primarily on academic achievements.Â
Â
Each Big Ten institution developed its own on-campus selection process when awarding scholarships. Student-athletes must have maintained at least a 3.2 grade-point average (GPA), demonstrated leadership qualities, served as an excellent role model and intended to continue their academic work beyond their baccalaureate degree at a graduate degree program.Â
Â
The Big Ten Postgraduate Scholarship will be used to pay expenses of the student's postgraduate education to include such related activities as research and teaching, as well as other expenses such as tuition, fees, room and board, required course-related supplies and books. To retain the scholarship, the recipient must be accepted into a full-time graduate degree program within three years from the fall semester after selection.Â
