Tyack leads Buckeyes with seven points, including career goal 100
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's lacrosse team lost a close game to No. 4 Maryland, 10-9, in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament Wednesday in U-M Lacrosse Stadium in Ann Arbor, Mich. The game had four lead changes and was tied four times, with the lead stretching to three just once. Maryland led 3-2 after the first quarter and 7-5 at the half. The Buckeyes made it a one-goal game three times in the second half but were unable to draw even.

Ohio State, the No. 7 seed in the tournament, ends the year 9-8 (3-5 B1G). The No. 2 seed Terps are now 15-2 (6-2 B1G) and advance to the semifinals.

How it Happened
- The first goal of the game was scored by Maryland at 7:58 of the first quarter on a free position shot.
- Ohio State notched the next two for a 2-1 lead. Zoe Coleman converted a free position chance at 6:08 and Kate Tyack tallied unassisted at 4:47.
- Two goals from Maryland in the final 3:40 gave the Terps a 3-2 lead after the first quarter.
- The Buckeyes pushed ahead 4-3 early in the second quarter. At 13:15 Camryn Callaghan set up a Maddy Paz score and at 9:55 Kate Tyack found Coleman in front for a tally.
- Maryland answered with a three-goal run, tying the game at 9:28 and going ahead 6-4 with goals at 6:05 and 5:02.
- Kampbell Stone found Tyack with 1:19 left for a one-goal game but a Maryland score with two seconds left gave the Terps a 7-5 lead at the half.
- Each team scored just once in the third. Tyack tallied on a free position opportunity at 7:56 and Maryland notched a player-up goal at 1:21.
- The Terps tallied 27 seconds into the fourth for the first three-goal lead of the game.
- Ohio State answered with back-to-back goals to make it a one-goal contest. Coleman assisted on a Tyack score at 12:51 and then Tyack found Coleman with the Buckeyes player up at 10:31.
- Maryland moved the lead to 10-8 with a free position goal at 4:36.
- With the Buckeyes player up, Tyack found Abby Boyle in front at 3:11 to make it a one-goal game again (10-9).
- Ohio State was able to force a shot clock violation with 1:33 remaining to gain possession. The Maryland goalie made a save with 27 seconds left to secure the win.

- Tyack ends the year with a team-high 30 assists and 74 points and shares the goal lead with Callaghan with 44 each.
- The 44 goals are the most for a Buckeye since Baley Parrott had 45 in 2019. Tyack's 74 points were the most since Alayna Markwordt had 90 in 2012. Jackie Cifarelli was the last Buckeye with 70-plus points, notching 72 in 2015.
- It was Tyack's ninth career game with four or more goals and her fourth game with seven or more points. She extended her point streak to 23 games with 52 goals and 83 points in the stretch and had multiple points in 15 of 17 games this year. She has 145 points as a Buckeye (102 g, 43a).
- Callaghan ends the year with 44 goals and ranks second with 58 points, ranking third with 14 assists. In her collegiate career she has 201 goals, 43 assists and 244 points. Callaghan has a point in each of her last 32 games, with an 82-20-102 line in the stretch.
- Coleman had 24 goals and 27 points, matching her career best for points. It was her ninth game with a hat trick or better and her 10th game with four or more points.
- Torres had a team-high 35 ground balls, along with 113 saves.
