Lasda recorded career goal 100 in contest
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s lacrosse team lost to No. 1 Northwestern, 19-10, in a Big Ten game in Evanston, Ill., Saturday afternoon.
The Buckeyes (7-7, 1-4 B1G) trailed 8-2 after the first quarter but outscored the Wildcats 7-5 in quarters two and three combined for a 13-9 game entering the final stanza. A five-goal run for Northwestern (12-2, 4-1 B1G) to open the fourth quarter allowed the Wildcats to pull away.
Ohio State senior Jamie Lasda had two goals in the game, with her first goal the 100th of her career and the second tally career point 150. Freshman Kate Tyack had a career-best four assists and five points, while Brynn Ammerman had three assists. Emily Magalotti, Leah Sax and Zoe Coleman each scored twice for the Scarlet and Gray. Regan Alexander had 12 saves in the Ohio State cage, along with seven ground balls and two caused turnovers.

- Northwestern scored the game’s first two goals at 14:10 and 12:02.
- Leah Sax tallied off a pass from Kate Tyack a minute later to put the Buckeyes on the board.
- The Wildcats answered with a six-goal run to move the lead to 8-1.
- Jamie Lasda ended the streak with 20 seconds left in the first quarter, converting a free position chance with a low shot. The goal was the 100th of her Buckeye career.
- After Northwestern opened the scoring in the second quarter at 10:44, the Buckeyes tallied three of the next four goals.
- Brynn Ammerman set up Lasda at 8:49. The Wildcats notched the next tally, but Emily Magalotti scored twice in less than a minute, assisted by Tyack and Ammerman, at 5:05 and 4:16, respectively.
- The final goal of the quarter came player-up from Northwestern with 25 seconds left in the stanza for a 12-5 Wildcat lead at the half.
- The Buckeyes outscored Northwestern 4-2 in the third quarter and trailed 13-9 through 45 minutes.
- A Wildcats goal opened the scoring 33 seconds into the third stanza. Tyack converted a free position chance for the Buckeyes at 12:52 for a 12-6 game.
- Tyack found Sax for a score at 8:38, answered by Northwestern at 6:36.
- Ohio State notched the next two. Annie Hargraves tallied unassisted at 4:26 and at 2:21 Ammerman found Coleman for a score.
- A five-goal run to open the fourth quarter for the Wildcats stretched the lead to 18-9 at 11:19.
- Tyack assisted on a Coleman score at 9:54 and the final goal came from Northwestern with 8:23 left in regulation.
- The Buckeyes were outshot, 37-25, in the game. Regan Alexander made 12 saves for the Buckeyes, while two Wildcat goalies combined for seven stops.
- Northwestern had the edge in ground balls, 22-16, and draw controls, 17-15.
- Alexander, who had two caused turnovers, had a team-best seven ground balls for the Buckeyes. Hargraves and Lasda each had six draw controls to lead Ohio State.

- Lasda leads the Buckeyes with 37 goals (a career best) and 43 points and moved her career-long scoring streak to 20 games, with 48 goals, 18 assists and 66 points in the stretch. In her career, Lasda has 101 goals, 49 assists and 150 points in 56 games.
- Lasda has 30 draw controls in the last four games combined and is first on the team with a career-best 51 this year.
- Tyack is on six-game goal and point streaks, with three or more points in each of the last four games. The four assists marked her first career multiple-assist outing and it was her first five-point day. She has nine goals, six assists and 15 points in her last four games combined. On the year, she has 17 goals and seven assists for 24 points.
- Coleman now has five two-goal games this season and eight as a Buckeye. She has a career-best 15 goals and 28 points this season, tying Sax for third in points.
- Sax is second on the team with 22 goals and tied for third with 28 points, with at least one point in 12 of 14 outings.
- Hargraves now has 43 draw controls on the year. It was her fifth game with five or more. She has at least one goal in all but three games and has 18 goals and 19 points this season.
- Alexander has double-digit saves in seven of the last 10 games and has 428 stops in her 49-game Buckeye career, ranking fifth in school history.
- Ammerman leads the Buckeyes with 23 assists and is second with 40 points. It was her seventh game this year with multiple assists and her third game with at least three.
- Magalotti recorded her second career two-goal outing and has nine goals this season.
