Buckeyes have played their first 27 games this season away from home
COLUMBUS, Ohio – After 27 games on the road, the Ohio State softball team is coming home.
Ohio State will make its 2024 Buckeye Field debut on Wednesday when they host Dayton at 4 p.m. Tickets can be purchased HERE or by calling the Ohio State Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-GOBUCKS.

Buckeye in a Nutshell
- Ohio State brings a 17-10 overall record into Wednesday's game following a Big Ten-opening series last weekend at Rutgers.

About the Flyers
- Dayton is 13-11 overall and has a midweek contest scheduled for Tuesday afternoon at Kentucky.
- Last weekend, the Flyers lost two of three games at home to open Atlantic 10 play against George Washington.
- Maddie Kapsimalis, an infielder, leads the team in batting average (.333), RBI (18) and slugging percentage (.472).
- Pitcher Izzy Kemp's 2.27 ERA and seven complete games leads a group of four pitchers who has seen action this season. Three of the four have tossed 36-plus innings thus far.
Statistically Speaking
- Ohio State's 34 home runs are the second-most in the Big Ten despite playing four less games than Indiana, who leads the league with 38.
- In the last 10 games, Kirsten Eppele, Kami Kortokrax and Destinee Noury have each hit three home runs. They've also combined to account for 33 of the team's 66 runs batted in.
- Senior Allison Smith is one win shy of 50 for her career. Only four other pitchers have reached that mark in their respective careers: Kim Reeder (77), Jamee Juarez (76), Katie Chain (67) and Kristi DeVries (59).
