Buckeyes Defeat Michigan in Five, Tie Program Record for Single-Game Home Runs

Each run Ohio State scored was via home run
Abbie Wilhelm etched herself into Ohio State softball history, becoming just the fifth Buckeye to homer thrice in one game, the first since Kami Kortokrax hit three home runs against Ohio University on April 22, 2025. She joins teammate Reagan Milliken, who also went yard three times in the 2025 season against Penn State. Wilhelm garnered five RBI on the day.
Hadley Parisien, Lottie Landmesser, Kiki Estrada, and Taylor Cruse all went deep as well. Those four, alongside Wilhelm, Skylar Limon, and Sami Bewick, all had multiple hits. The offense combined for 18 total hits, the most of any game this season.
Sophomore Lorin Boutte twirled a gem in the circle, picking up her third win of the season on a five-strikeout, two-earned run performance. Boutte tossed a total of 10.1 shutout innings against the Wolverines in the series.
How it Happened, 5 inn.
- The Ohio State offense got off to a quick start, with Hadley Parisien and Abbie Wilhelm hitting consecutive solo home runs to open the game and give Ohio State a 2-0 lead.
- The Buckeyes put up another six runs in the second inning via three two-run home runs, courtesy of Wilhelm, Taylor Cruse, and Lottie Landmesser.
- Wilhelm launched her third home run of the day, a two-run shot in the top of the third, which was followed up by a three-run bomb by Kiki Estrada to give Ohio State a 13-0 lead.
- Michigan added two runs on consecutive solo home runs by Lauren Putz and Erin Hoehn in the bottom of the third, but the defense would allow further scoring.
- Lorin Boutte got the start and the win for the Buckeyes, allowing just two earned runs on six hits while striking out five. Jenna Molk worked the final two outs of the fifth inning. Grayson Lamarche got the start and the loss for Michigan.
