COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men's lacrosse team closes its four-game homestand this weekend with its conference opener against No. 7 Penn State Sunday, March 24. The Buckeyes (5-4) and Nittany Lions faceoff at 2:30 p.m. from Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium.

The game will be broadcast on Big Ten Network with Jack Kizer on play-by-play and Buckeye Lacrosse alumni Mitchell Pehlke ('23) as the analyst. Tickets for Ohio State men's lacrosse games can be purchased HERE.

Prior to Sunday's game, there will be a block party on the west side of the Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium on the service road and grass field between the stadium and Covelli from 1-2:30 p.m. The block party is open to everyone and fans will scan their tickets when entering the stadium. Activities include inflatables, face painter, balloon twister, games and more. Food trucks will be open and will stay for the entire game.

Buckeyes In a Nutshell
- Ohio State enters league play with a 5-4 record against non-conference opponents. The four losses were all to top-10 teams.
- Ohio State split its games last week with a 16-10 win over Detroit Mercy and a 9-6 loss to then-ranked No. 7 Denver.
- Leading the Buckeyes in points and assists entering the Big Ten season is Ed Shean with 19 and 10, respectively. His 10 assists are a career-high.
- Gannon Matthews, Ben Mayer and Alex Marinier are tied for the team lead with 15 goals on the season.
- In goal, Caleb Fyock continues to lead the Big Ten with a 9.20 goals against average. His save percentage (.536) ranks fourth and saves per game (10.25) ranks fifth in the conference.
- At the faceoff, Jack Oldman won a team-high 17 against Detroit Mercy. Tommy Burke has seen the majority of time at the faceoff X, winning 81-of-141 for the third-best win percentage (.574) in the conference.
- Cullen Brown earned his first Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week award after his performances against Denver and Detroit Mercy. The sophomore picked up a career-high seven ground balls against the Pioneers and added a caused turnover to hold his opponent to its lowest scoring performance of the year. He added a ground ball and caused turnover against the Titans.
- Brown leads non-faceoff players in the Big Ten with 3.56 ground balls per game.
- The Buckeyes are 4-2 at home this season with wins over Utah, Cleveland State and Bellarmine and Detroit Mercy. The team is 9-4 all-time at Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium.
- Celebrating the roots of the game of lacrosse and the founding programs of the sport in the Big Ten, the Creator's Trophy was established in 2012 by Nick Myers and his counterparts at Michigan (then John Paul) and Penn State (Jeff Tambroni).
- The award is contested annually between the three schools who were the only programs in the Big Ten at the time.
- A team that earns a 2-0 record against the other programs will take ownership of the trophy each spring and have its name and the year inscribed. If two teams earn a 1-1 record, the trophy will go to the head-to-head winner. If all teams finish 1-1, then no team or year will be recorded on the trophy, and it will reside with the most recent team to win it outright.
- Lacrosse is considered North America's first sport and its generation is credited to Native Americans. Today, Native Americans still refer to the sport as "The Creator's Game." The trophy is intended to pay homage to the sport's heritage, promote the budding rivalry of the Big Ten schools and encourage sportsmanship on and off the field of play.
- Ohio State has won the trophy three times, most recently in 2022. Michigan has never won it.Â
- Ohio State is 7-20 in the all-time series against Penn State.
