Eiland Named to USA Lacrosse Roster for Pan-Am Championship

The inaugural Pan-American Men’s Lacrosse Championship is set for Aug. 16-23 in Kingston, Jamaica and serves as a qualifier for the 2027 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship in Japan.
SPARKS, Md. --Â Ohio State men's lacrosse alumni Blake Eiland was named to the USA Lacrosse roster ahead of the inaugural Pan-American Men's Lacrosse Championship, as announced by USA Lacrosse on Wednesday.Â
The tournament is set for Aug. 16-23 in Kingston, Jamaica and serves as a qualifier for the 2027 World Lacrosse Men's Championship in Japan.Â
The 2026 Maryland Whipsnakes draft pick was one of one of 22 Americans selected to represent the country. Eiland has had an impressive rookie campaign, helping put the Whipsnakes near the top of the Eastern Conference standings with a few weeks remaining in the PLL season. Eiland and Maryland also rank second in the league with a +20-scoring difference.Â
The SSDM has collected at least one ground ball in six of the eight games he has played. Eiland, who recently scored his first career professional goal against the Redwoods on July 17, has also caused a pair of turnovers this season.Â
During his four years in Columbus, Eiland was a mainstay in the rotation for the Buckeyes, suiting up in 56 career games. He was a two-time All-American and as a three-time Academic All-B1G selection. In his final two seasons, he helped lead Ohio State to back-to-back Big Ten Championships and an appearance in the 2025 NCAA Tournament.Â
