Game Recap
- The Hoyas took the early lead, sending a two-run home run out of the park in the top of the first to get ahead of the Buckeyes, 2-0.
- Trey Lipsey was walked to lead off the bottom of the first and Henry Kaczmar was hit by a pitch to put two runners on. With one out on the board, Tyler Pettorini drew a walk to load the bases. Mitchell Okuley walked to send Lipsey home and leave the Buckeyes trailing by just one run, 2-1.
- In the bottom of the third, Kaczmar hit an infield single to lead off, but there was nothing else doing for the Buckeyes and the score remained the same.
- Joseph Mershon led off the bottom of the fourth frame with a single through the left side and advanced to second on an Okuley groundout. With two outs on the board, Josh Stevenson drew a walk but him and Mershon were stranded on base.
- With one out in the bottom of the fifth, Kaczmar and Matthew Graveline drew back-to-back walks. On a fly-out from Pettorini, Kaczmar advanced to third to put runners on the corners. Graveline then swiped second to get into scoring position. Mershon was also walked to load the bases, but all three runners were left on base.
- Nick Giamarusti singled up the middle and stole second to kick things off in the bottom of the sixth inning. Stevenson walked and Lipsey was hit by a pitch, once again loading the bases for Ohio State. A double play, however, ended the inning and the Hoyas remained in the lead, 2-1.
- In the top of the seventh, Georgetown extended its lead, 5-1, after scoring on an RBI single and a two-RBI double.
