Alexander made 11 saves in the Buckeye cage
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's lacrosse team fell in a Big Ten Conference game to No. 3-ranked Maryland, 12-6, Saturday afternoon in front of 1,250 fans in Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium. The Terps improve to 7-1 on the year (1-0 B1G), with Ohio State now 6-3 (0-2 B1G).

Maryland led 4-0 after the first quarter and Ohio State shut out the Terrapins in the second quarter while scoring twice for a 4-2 game at the half. The Buckeyes tallied three of the five goals in the third quarter for a one-goal game (6-5) through 45 minutes. Maryland used a five-goal run to pull away in the fourth and close out the win. Jamie Lasda and Leah Sax each scored twice for the Buckeyes and Zoe Coleman had two points with a goal and an assist. Regan Alexander made 11 saves for the Buckeyes. Lasda had a team-best four draw controls and Erin O'Neil was first with three ground balls.

How it Happened
- Maryland scored the only four goals of the first quarter. The Terrapins opened the scoring at 10:06 and then tallied three times in the final 4:47 of the stanza.
- The script flipped in the second, with Ohio State the only team to find the back of the cage in quarter two. Brynn Ammerman set up Kate Tyack at 13:14 and Leah Sax scored on a player-up free position chance at 6:25.
- The Terps scored the first two goals of the third quarter for a 6-2 lead at 10:52. The goal at 11:45 ended a scoreless streak of 18:23 for Maryland.
- The Buckeyes tallied the next three to draw within one and were down 6-5 at the end of the third quarter.
- A free position goal from Jamie Lasda started the stretch at 7:40. Sax scored through traffic at 2:27 and Zoe Coleman set up a Lasda score from the right side at 1:07.
- Maryland pulled away in the fourth with five straight goals. The Terps started the stretch with two goals in the first 2:37 and then scored at 8:33, 7:53 and 5:30 for an 11-5 lead.
- A Coleman free position goal ended the Terps' run at 2:21, but Maryland answered at 1:23 and that was the final goal of the game.
- Ohio State was outshot, 32-26. For the fifth game in a row, Regan Alexander had double-digit stops, making 11 saves in the Buckeye cage.
- Each team had 11 draw controls. Lasda recorded a Buckeye-best four, while Emily Magalotti had three and Annie Hargraves had two. Maryland clipped Ohio State in ground balls, 16-15. Erin O'Neil led the Buckeyes with three and Alexander, Lasda, Ammerman and Lilli Sherman each had two. O'Neil had two caused turnovers to lead Ohio State.
- Alexander had a fifth straight game with double-digit saves with 14. She has 82 stops on the year, with a .522 save percentage.
- Lasda leads the Buckeyes with 28 goals and 34 points. She moved her career-long scoring streak to 15 games and has 39 goals, 18 assists and 57 points in the stretch. In her career, Lasda has 92 goals, 49 assists and 141 points in 51 games.
- Ammerman has at least one point in each game this season and is second on the squad with 31 points, ranking first with 17 assists.
- Sax has at least one goal in eight of nine games this season and marked her seventh game with two or more goals. She is second on the team with 17 goals and third with 21 points.
- Coleman has a point in all but one game this season, with multiple points in six outings. She has 11 goals and nine assists for 20 points on the year.
- The loss was the first at home for the Buckeyes this season.
