COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 2 Ohio State women's hockey team outlasted Minnesota State with a 2-1 overtime win Friday night at the Mayo Clinic HSEC in Mankato, Minn. Sophomore forward Joy Dunne tallied the game-winning goal for the Buckeyes, who improve to 13-3-2 overall and 8-3-2 in conference play with the win.   Â

The first two periods were scoreless in Mankato. Ohio State put 24 shots on goal in the first 40 minutes of play while Buckeye netminder Hailey MacLeod made 11 saves to keep the Mavericks off the scoreboard.

On the Buckeyes' 29th shot of the game, Jocelyn Amos broke the silence. She scored 2:15 into the third period off assists from Kiara Zanon and Riley Brengman.

The Mavericks called their timeout with 2:02 to play in the third and pulled goaltender Hailey Hansen with just over a minute to play in regulation, leading to an extra skater goal with at 19:14 to tie the game and sent it to overtime.

How the Buckeye Goals Were Scored
- Ohio State stopped Minnesota State's attempt to clear the zone along the near half boards and Brengman collected the puck and knocked it to Zanon across the slot. Zanon took a shot from the far faceoff circle that was saved by Hansen, but the rebound landed on the stick of Amos. Amos finished on the open net to put Ohio State ahead, 1-0.
- Joy Dunne's game-winner started with a save by MacLeod with under three minutes to play in the five-minute overtime. Riley Brengman corralled the rebounded puck and passed it off to Zanon with. The two rushed into the Minnesota State zone side-by-side, with Dunne following. After skating with the puck in the near circle, Zanon gave the puck up to Dunne and the O'Fallon, Mo. native skated around two Mavericks and beat Hansen stick side.
- Brengman and Zanon assisted both Buckeyes goals in Friday's game. Brengman and Zanon now have two and four multi-assist performances this season, respectively.
- Dunne's game-winning goal is her third of the season. She extends her point streak to 10 games with the goal.
- MacLeod improves to 3-1-1 on the year in net for Ohio State
