COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 2 Ohio State women's hockey team makes the trip to Mankato, Minn. this weekend to play a two-game series at Minnesota State for its final Western Collegiate Hockey Association tests of 2024. Puck drop between the Buckeyes (12-3-2, 7-6-2 WCHA) and Mavericks (3-6-1, 1-6-1 WCHA) is set for 7 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday at Mayo Clinic HSEC.

Buckeyes in a Nutshell
- The Buckeyes are coming off a series split against No. 1 Wisconsin last weekend. The team dropped game one, 4-2, but rebounded with a 3-2 win in game two in the first matchup against the Badgers since the 2024 national championship game.
- Riley Brengman was named the WCHA's Defender of the Week after her performance against the Badgers. The graduate led the Buckeyes with a +3 on ice and six blocked shots in the series. The China, Mich. native added two assists with one in each game. She helped the Buckeye blue line hold Wisconsin, who was averaging six goals and 40 shots per game to just six goals on the weekend and 24.00 shots per game.
- Jenna Buglioni and Joy Dunne lead the team with 23 points each through 17 games this season. Buglioni has scored a team high 12 goals on the year and Emma Peschel paces the team with 14 assists on the year.
- The Buckeyes lead the country with four shorthanded goals on the year. Buglioni has two with Jocelyn Amos and Kiara Zanon adding one each.
- Fourteen of the 16 skaters who have played in at least 33% of the Buckeyes' games have recorded a goal and all 16 have multiple points on the year.
- Ohio State leads the WCHA, and is second in the country, at the faceoff dot. The Buckeyes own a .596 win percentage at the dot. Amos owns the best win percentage on the team (.711) and is third nationally with 214 wins.
- Freshman forward Jordyn Petrie continues to lead rookies nationally in points with 15 on the year.
- Dunne is currently on a nine-game points streak. Starting Oct. 18 at St. Cloud with two goals, she has recorded 18 points in the stretch. The streak is tied for the 10th longest in program history.
2025 Signing Class
- Nadine Muzerall announced her 2025 signing class this week with seven student-athletes set to join the Buckeyes as freshmen next season.
- The signees are Kassidy Carmichael, Maxine Cimoroni, Macy Rasmussen, Jenna Raunio, Hilda Svensson, Sanni Vanhanen and Lean Wicks.
- All seven players have represented their home countries in international competition, starting with the IIHF U18 World Championships with Raunio and Svenson playing for Sweden, Carmichael and Rasmussen for Team USA and Cimoroni for Canada in the tournament.
- Vanhanen is an Olympic medalist for Finland, winning bronze in 2022. She has skated with Finland's senior national team at the last four World Championships.
- Svenson also competed at the 2024 Women's World Championship for Sweden.
- The group is comprised of five forwards and two defenders.

- Ohio State is 85-14-9 in the all-time series against Minnesota State.
- The Buckeyes have won the last 18 matchups against the Mavericks and is unbeaten in the last 23 games of the series.
