Buckeyes Competing in Wolverine Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- This weekend, members of the Ohio State women's tennis team competed in the Wolverine Invitational in Ann Arbor, Mich. Ohio State was a combined 11-3 in singles and 5-2 in doubles over the three days.

Freshman Audrey Spencer was a team-best 6-0, with three singles and three doubles victories. Madeline Atway was 3-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles, while Dani Schoenly was 2-1 in both singles and doubles. The doubles tandems of Teah Chavez and Atway and Spencer and Schoenly were both 2-0 in the tournament. Akanksha Bhan was also 2-1 in singles and added a doubles victory.

Friday
The Buckeyes were a combined 4-1 in singles, with Akanksha Bhan, Audrey Spencer and Madeline Atway winning vs. Princeton and Dani Schoenly defeating a Michigan State player in three sets.
Ohio State was 2-1 in doubles against the Spartans. The duos of Teah Chavez and Atway and Bhan and Spencer both posted victories.

Saturday
Ohio State started the day with two doubles wins vs. Yale, with the tandems of Teah Chavez and Madeline Atway and Audrey Spencer and Dani Schoenly both victorious.

Atway added a singles win vs. Michigan State, coming from behind to win in three sets, and Audrey Spencer was a straight-set winner vs. the Spartans.

Sunday
Day three of the tournament started with doubles and Dani Schoenly and Audrey Spencer posted a 6-4 win vs. Michigan State.

The Buckeyes were a perfect 5-0 on the day in singles. Spencer, Akanksha Bhan and Teah Chavez all won in straight sets vs. Yale and Madeline Atway came from a set down to defeat Bulldog Ann Wright Guerry. Schoenly picked up a victory vs. a Spartan.
