
UT Home Invitational Up Next for the Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's tennis team will be in Knoxville, Tenn., for the UT Home Invitational this weekend. The event includes the host Lady Vols, Princeton, Virginia and Kentucky, with teams facing off in both singles and doubles. A PlaySight video stream is available HERE. This is the Buckeyes' eighth appearance in the Tennessee fall tournament but the first since October 2018. Buckeye head coach Melissa Schaub played four years for the Lady Vols (2003-06), where she earned All-America and All-SEC accolades.

Last Time Out
The Buckeyes competed in the ITA Midwest Regional Championships in East Lansing, Mich., Oct. 12-15. Irina Cantos Siemers advanced to the semifinals before falling in three sets. She and Luciana Perry ended as the regional doubles runner-up after five consecutive wins. Freshman Teah Chavez posted two wins in qualifying to reach the main draw, where she added two more victories before falling in the Round of 16. Shelly Bereznyak posted two wins to reach the quarterfinals.

Looking Ahead
The fall schedule concludes with the ITA Fall National Championships Nov. 1-4 in San Diego, Calif. Irina Cantos Siemers, who reached the semifinals of the ITA Midwest Regionals, was selected for the singles draw and she and Luciana Perry, the regional runner-up, will compete in the doubles tournament.
