
Ohio State’s Regular Season Concludes Sunday vs. Bellarmine

10th-ranked Buckeyes seek their 13th win of the season
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The 10th-ranked Ohio State field hockey team will close out its regular season on Sunday when it welcomes Bellarmine to Buckeye Varsity Field. The contest will get underway at 1 p.m. Admission and parking, which is available in the lots surrounding the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, is free. For anyone who can't make it out but wants to follow the action, the game will be streamed live on B1G+. Jonathan Matthes will serve as play-by-play announcer and Gus Soteriades will provide color commentary.

Briefly on the Buckeyes
- Ohio State was ranked in the top 10 of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association poll of the third straight week, checking in at No. 10.
- The Buckeyes are 12-5 overall and finished their Big Ten slate with a 4-4 record. The 12 wins are the most for Ohio State in a season since 2018.
- Ohio State's 50 goals scored this season is the second-most in the country, behind only 54 by New Hampshire. The Buckeyes average 2.94 goals per game, which is 13th-best nationally.
- Senior Makenna Webster leads the team with 15 goals, which is second in the Big Ten and sixth nationally. Three other players – Brenna Bough, Julie Rodijk and Leanne Bough – have six or more goals on the season.
- In all, seven different players have scored multiple goals. As a team, Ohio State's tallied four or more goals in a game six times.
- Abby Danson has started all 17 games this season in goal and has a 1.13 goals-against average to go along with 56 total stops and a .747 save percentage.
- The defense in front of Danson includes two of the eight seniors that will be honored following Sunday's game: Delaney Lawler, who will start her 88th career game, and Sarah Richards, a veteran of 58 career games.
What a Win Would Mean…
- Ohio State would finish with 13 regular season wins, the most since 2010, the season that the Buckeyes made it all the way to the Final Four.
- The Buckeyes would have a 7-3 record at home and 9-1 mark against non-conference opponents.
- It would also be Ohio State's second win in as many years against Bellarmine. Last year in Louisville, Ky., the Buckeyes topped the Knights 5-1. Makenna Webster had a career-high three assists in the game.
Scouting Bellarmine
- The Knights have a two-game weekend in the state of Ohio, beginning on Friday with a 3 p.m. contest in Athens against the Ohio Bobcats.
- Bellarmine is 7-7 on the season and has victories in its last two games versus Ball State and Lindenwood.
- A member of the Mid-American Conference, Bellarmine is 3-2 on the season in conference play with wins over Ball State, Central Michigan and Longwood.
- Bellarmine's leading scorers are Paige Hoyer (20 points, nine goals, two assists) and Peyton Hobson (18 points, seven goals, four assists).
- Goalie Kailey Workman has started all 14 games and her 74 saves are the second-most in the Mid-American Conference.
What's Next
- Following Sunday's game, Ohio State will have the next 10 days off before the Big Ten Tournament starts in Ann Arbor, Mich. on Thursday, Nov. 2.
- Ohio State is finished with its Big Ten slate with every other team in the league plays at least one more conference game.
- The Buckeyes are currently in fifth place in the league standings and can finish as high as third or as low as sixth once the regular season concludes.

- The eight seniors who will be honored after Sunday's game are: Leanne Bough, Abby Danson, Ali Gordon, Delaney Lawler, Megan McKenna, Sarah Richards, Julie Rodijk and Makenna Webster.
- The group has combined to play in 462 games for the Buckeyes and has scored 61 goals with 37 assists and 159 points. They've led the team to the Big Ten Tournament three times (including 2023) and have won 46 games since the start of the 2019 season.
- Bough, Lawler and Rodijk (UAlbany) all have their undergraduate degrees already and are working towards completing master's degrees. The other five seniors are all on schedule to graduate as well.
