COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 9 Ohio State Buckeyes (12-4, 4-3 B1G) fell to No. 4 Rutgers (13-0, 4-0 B1G) in a shootout on Friday afternoon at Buckeye Varsity Field after being scoreless through double overtime.

The game was scoreless after one quarter, though Ohio State led in shots (5-2) and corners (3-1). The Buckeyes led 7-4 in shots and 5-2 in corners at halftime as the game hadn't seen its first goal. OSU led 10-5 in shots and 7-3 in corners after three quarters as the score was knotted at zero. The game required overtime as the Buckeyes led 16-6 in shots and 9-4 in corners at the end of regulation.

- Ohio State entered Friday's game with 49 goals on the season – the most of any team in the country. Conversely, Rutgers had allowed just 12 total goals on the season – fifth fewest in the nation.
