- The Buckeye women are receiving votes (the first team outside the Top 30) in the most recent USTFCCCA national rankings. In the Great Lakes Region, Ohio State is fourth, with Notre Dame No. 1, Michigan State No. 2, Wisconsin No. 3 and Michigan No. 5.
- Ohio State was off last weekend, with the squads last competing at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational in Chicago Sept. 29. The women were sixth as a team, led by Top 8 finishes from Addie Engel and Daniella Santos, and Zubin Jha led the men with a 25th-place finish.
- Engel, the defending Big Ten Champion and a 2023 All-American, has been named Big Ten Runner of the Week three times this season and was also recognized as the NCAA and USTFCCCA National Runner of the Week. She has placed in the Top 16 in 17 of her last 18 races (with the lone exception when she ran as an individual at the 2021 NCAA Championships). Engel started the year with first-place finishes at Wright State and Wisconsin, placed 11th at Virginia and was the runner-up at Loyola.
- Santos has been second for the Scarlet and Gray each race, with Akemi Von Scherr third and Aniya Mosely fourth the last two times out.
- For the men this year, Jha has been the Buckeyes' top finisher in two of three races. Kevin Agnew has been in the Top 2 each race and was first for the squad at Wisconsin.Â
- The men and women will travel to Madison, Wis., for the Big Ten Championships Oct. 17 and the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships Nov. 10.
