COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track and field team travels to South Carolina for the Gamecock Invitational on Saturday. Competition is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. ET.
- Tyler Johnson was named Ohio State’s male Big Ten Medal of Honor recipient on Monday.
- The Buckeyes competed at both the Joe May Invitational and the Tennessee Relays last weekend.
- At the Joe May Invitational:
- Johnson won the men’s 400m (44.95), setting a meet record by 1.76 seconds.
- Kentre Patterson won the men’s 110m hurdles (13.60) with the fastest Buckeye men’s time of the season.
- Both the men’s and women’s 4x400m relay squads beat the previous meet records as the men’s squad was the runner-up and the women finished third.
- At the Tennessee Relays:
- The Ohio State women won the distance medley relay (11:33.39) as Aziza Ayoub, Mabinty Kebe, Mallory Mulzer and Addie Engel ran the relay.
- The Ohio State men won the 4x800m relay (7:26.16) with Nick Miller, Cameron Cooper, Alex Kenish and Ivan Slyepkan on the team.
- Abigail Kuhn won the women’s pole vault competition by clearing 4.07m – the best pole vault among the OSU women during the outdoor season.
