COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track and field team competes at the Iowa State Classic and Clemson Tiger Paw this weekend. Friday’s competition begins at noon at the Clemson Tiger Paw and 1 p.m. ET at the Iowa State Classic. On Saturday, action at the Clemson Tiger Paw begins at 11 a.m. for field events and noon for track events, while the Iowa State Classic again begins at 1 p.m. ET.
- The Ohio State women were ranked 14th in the latest USTFCCCA weekly poll on Monday. Three athletes were ranked in the top-26 in a collective five events, including Adelaide Aquilla who leads the nation in women’s shot put this season and Anavia Battle who is second in the 200m and 12th in the 60m.
- Aquilla remained on the Bowerman Watch List midway through the indoor season.
- The Buckeyes competed at the Notre Dame Meyo Invite last weekend with the pole vaulters traveling to the Jud Logan Light Giver Open separately.
- The Ohio State men came away with a combined four event wins across the two competitions, while the squad combined for seven top-three finishes.
- OSU opened the competition with a win in the men’s distance medley relay (10:04.59). Nick Miller led off for the Buckeyes, followed by Kashawn Baptiste, Alex Kenish and then Nick Regas anchored.
- Leo Uusimaki earned his second win of the season and first in the men’s long jump (7.22m) last weekend as the runner-up failed to jump seven meters.
- Oscar Smith won his first race of the season with an Ohio State season-best 7.90 in the 60m hurdles.
- Luke Bendick made his season debut with a win in the men’s pole vault (5.08m).
