
TJ Brock Named NCBWA Preseason All-American

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State senior right-hander TJ Brock has been named a National Baseball Writers Association Preseason Third Team All-American.
The Cincinnati, Ohio native was tied for the Big Ten lead last season with nine saves. He earned third team All-Big Ten honors last year after posting a team-low 2.08 ERA in 21.2 innings with 33 strikeouts and just 16 walks. He opened last year with a season-high 2.1 innings pitched in the extra innings win on opening day, allowing no runs on one hit. He then had a four-pitch, three-out save at Rutgers, back-to-back saves vs. Indiana on April 2-3 and capped the year with back-to-back saves on May 28 and 29 vs. Northwestern.
For his career, Brock has made 40 appearances and pitched 61.0 innings. He has nine saves, 67 strikeouts and opponents are hitting just .254 against him.
Brock and the Buckeyes are set to open the season on Friday, Feb. 18, against Marshall at the Snowbird Classic in Port Charlotte, Fla.
