COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track and field team travels to Lexington for its third competition of the indoor season at the Rod McCravy Memorial on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, field events begin at 1 p.m. and track events begin at 4 p.m. On Saturday, field events start at 10 a.m., while track events commence at noon.
- The Buckeyes competed at the South Carolina Challenge last weekend, earning a total of five event wins as a team – two on the men’s side and three on the women’s side.
- Adelaide Aquilla was named Big Ten Female Field Athlete of the Week on Wednesday afternoon, her second conference weekly award through two weeks of the season. Aquilla was also named National Female Athlete of the Week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches’ Association.
- Aquilla earned these accolades after picking up her second dominant win in the shot put this season. She threw for 19.09m while the runner-up went for 16.08m.
- Anavia Battle earned two event wins for the Buckeyes – taking the 60m (7.28) and the 200m (22.76), beating the field in the 200m but more than half a second. She leads all Buckeyes with three wins on the season.
- Tyler Johnson picked up his second win of the season, this time in the 400m (46.27) – more than 1.3 seconds faster than the runner-up.
- Daniel Drellishak won the open finals of the men’s pole vault, clearing 4.73m in his collegiate debut.
