- The Buckeyes opened the 2022 indoor season at the Big Ten Midwest Invite last weekend as they competed against Illinois, Minnesota, Purdue and host-school Wisconsin.
- Ohio State totaled seven event wins at the invite – four on the women’s side and three on the men’s side. The Buckeyes also set three facility records.
- OSU swept the 300m and set both the men’s and women’s facility records as Tyler Johnson (32.55) won the men’s competition and Anavia Battle (38.23) took the women’s. Adelaide Aquilla also set a facility record with a throw of 19.08m, which was better than her Olympic-qualifying throw and her best throw at the Olympics.
- Johnson was the lone Buckeye to win more than once – also taking the 60m with a personal-best time of 6.70.
- Leo Uusimaki took first in the pole vault in his Buckeye debut. He cleared 4.96m to pick up the win. The junior also raced in the 60m hurdles, finishing fourth overall in a time of 8.20.
- Shaun Miller Jr. set a personal best by clearing 2.16m to win the men’s high jump competition. Daniella Santos earned another win for the Buckeyes as she raced to a 9:49.72 finish in the women’s 3,000m.
