COLUMBUS, Ohio – Two Buckeye outfielders have been named All-Stars in their respective summer league teams this past week. Rising junior Dominic Canzone was named an East Division All-Star in the Cape, while rising redshirt freshman Jake Ruby was named an All-Star for the North squad in the Cal Ripken League. Canzone is leading the Brewster Whitecaps as the team’s lead-off hitter with a .311 average (23-for-74) with nine runs, one double, one triple, one home run and eight RBI. Ruby is hitting .321 (26-for-81) with five doubles, one triple, two home runs, 17 RBI and 14 walks in 23 games for the Baltimore Dodgers in the Cal Ripken League. The 2018 Cape All-Star Game is slated for Sunday, July 22 in Harwich, Mass. Ruby also was selected to the Sunbelt Classic Roster and will take on other southeastern summer league teams at Wingate University July 16-17.

Congratulations to @JakeRuby25 (@OhioStateBASE) for being named to the 2018 Sunbelt Classic roster. He will will join other CRCBL players to take other southeastern summer league teams at Wingate University in North Carolina. The games will take place July 16 & 17.

Thomas Waning – The Ohio State right-handed relief pitcher is tied for the Prospect League lead with six wins. He is 2-1 with a 1.74 ERA with 17strikeouts in 10.1 innings pitched in nine appearances.
Griffan Smith – 1-1 with a 3.73 ERA in six starts for the Chillicothe Paints in the Prospect League. He has struck out 235 in 31.1 IP.
Dillon Dingler – The rising sophomore catcher is hitting .362 (25-for-69) with 13 runs, eight doubles, two triples, 15 RBI, 10 walks and one stolen base for the Paints.
Conner Pohl – Batting .269 (18-for-67) with 11 runs scored, three doubles, two home runs, eight RBI and six walks for the Champion City Kings in the Prospect League.
Jake Vance – The rising junior right-handed pitcher is 2-2 with a 4.39 ERA with 27 strikeouts in 28.2 innings of work for the Baltimore Dodgers in the Cal Ripken League.
Andrew Magno – The OSU lefty has struck out 26 batters in 17.0 innings of work in nine relief appearances for the Kings. He fanned a season-high six in 5.1 innings of relief last time out July 11 vs. Butler.
Seth Lonsway – Struck out a season-high eight hitters in 4.2 innings, allowing one run on two hits in second start for the Kings July 11.
Jonathan Jahn – Fanned a season-high seven in four innings in a start for the Kings July 11.
