Scarlet Rallies to Win 5-4 over Gray in Game 3

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Scarlet squad rallied with a three-run fourth inning to claim a 5-4 win over Gray in game three of the Scarlet and Gray Series Saturday afternoon at Bill Davis Stadium. Freshman Nolan Clegg launched a three-run homer in the bottom of the fourth to help Scarlet to the come-from-behind victory in a five-inning intersquad scrimmage. Gray now leads 2-1 in the series with game four at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium.

At the plate, Clegg went 2-for-2 with two runs scored, home run and three RBI, while classmate Nick Erwin was 2-for-2 with a run scored for Scarlet. Noah West was 2-for-3 with a run scored for Gray. On the mound, freshman Will Pfennig tossed three scoreless innings with three walks in one strikeout in a start for Scarlet.
