Baseball Buckeyes Open Fall Practice on Nick Swisher Field – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State baseball team practiced for the first time on Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium Thursday evening.
Under the direction of second-year head coach Greg Beals, the 2012 Buckeyes return six starters, five seniors and welcome 16 newcomers. Ohio State will have a total of 19 practice days before the best-of-five Scarlet and Gray World series begins Oct. 14.
In addition, the Buckeyes will be hosting the second annual Ohio State Baseball Alumni Day Saturday at Bill Davis Stadium.
Alumni interested in watching the current Buckeyes in action can see watch a practice/scrimmage at 10 a.m., followed by the alumni batting practice/home run derby at 2:30 p.m. and the alumni game at 4 p.m. After the game concludes, all alumni are welcome to watch to Ohio State/Miami (Fla.) football game in the players’ lounge and conference room at Bill Davis Stadium.
