College Station, Texas – The Ohio State baseball team is playing Louisiana-Lafayette today in the first game of the 2007 NCAA Baseball Championships regional in College Station, Texas. The Buckeyes fell behind, 1-0, after a first-inning run by the Rajin’ Cajuns, but rallied to take a 3-1 lead in the third inning. The game is tied at 3 in the fourth.
Third baseman Adam Kennedy started the 3-run Buckeye third with a leadoff single. Shortstop Cory Rupert followed with a single to make it first-and-second with no one out. Second baseman Cory Kovanda moed both runners with a sacrifice bunt before Jacob Howell knocked in Kennedy with a single. Matt Angle, playing right field, had the key hit of the inning, slamming a 2-run double into the right field gap to score Rupert and Howell.
