Corvallis, Ore. – Bob Todd, Head Coach
On being a No. 4 seed
“The committee made that decision and must have felt we were a No. 4 seed. We have to live with that decision and try and make the most out of our opportunity.”
On playing Oregon State
I completely respect the Pac-10. What Oregon State has done this year has been amazing. To lead the league in pitching and to be second in batting is quite an accomplishment. Once they get a lead, they don’t lose it. Their bull pen is has done a great job this year.”
On the team’s regional experience
“We have been in 11 of the last 15 regionals. Our guys know what it takes to meet our goals we set forth before the season. You have to keep an even keel and deal with the ebb and flow. We have experience and hopefully we’ll have some success out here.”
Steve Caravati, Senior Outfielder
On the importance of playing well in the opener of a regional “You never want to fall into the loser’s bracket. To play the first game on Oregon State’s home field is going to be a terrific atmosphere. We take this game as a challenge and we will strive live up to our own expectations.”
On being the No. 4 seed in the Corvallis regional
“It is similar to two years ago at Auburn. We were the No. 3 seed and played Auburn and Clemson, both national powers and went 3-0. We just need to do the same that we did in 2003. We need to go all out and play our style. Who and where we play does not matter. We just need to stay away from mental mistakes and play our game.”
