New OSU Athletics Director Gene Smith to Throw Out First Pitch – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Gene Smith, Ohio State’s new director of athletics, will throw out the first pitch before the second game of today’s doubleheader vs. Eastern Michigan. The doubleheader gets underway at 4:05 p.m. and the second game will commence 20 minutes after the conclusion of game one. The ceremonial first pitch should take place some time between 6-6:30 p.m. Smith, who was the athletics director at Eastern Michigan from 1985-93, became Ohio State’s eighth director of athletics on April 15.
