No. 18 Buckeyes Fall to No. 20 Illinois 3-1 – Ohio State Buckeyes

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – 18th ranked Ohio State (8-5 overall, 1-3 Big Ten) came up short against 20th ranked Illinois (10-4, 3-1) as the Illini earned a 3-1 decision over the Buckeyes, 17-15, 16-14, 14-16, 15-4.
%^$For the third consecutive match Angelee Abbring recorded 20 or more kills (20 vs. Illinois) with Rosie Snow adding 19 and Dana Stearns 17. The Illini received a match high of 22 kills from Mary Coleman and 20 each from Cristy Chapman and Tracey Marshall.
%^$The Illini hit .328 for the match to .204 for the Buckeyes. Ohio State had the edge in ace serves, 10-7 and blocks 15.5 to 14 while Illinois outdug the Buckeyes 74 to 49.
%^$The Buckeyes return home to face sixth-ranked Wisconsin on Friday and Iowa on Saturday.
