Ohio State Selected for NCAA Tallahassee Regional

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s golf team has been selected to participate in the NCAA Regional in Tallahassee, Fla., on May 17-19. This is the 50th all-time NCAA postseason appearance for the Buckeyes.
The tournament will be played at the Seminole Legacy Golf Club, hosted by Florida State. Ohio State is the 11-seed in the 14-team field that will advance the top five teams and the top individual from a non-advancing team to the NCAA Championship. The finals will be at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., later this month.
With the cancelation of last season’s championship, the last time the Buckeyes were in a regional, they had a good time. Ohio State shot 20-under par and finished runner-up at the Myrtle Beach Regional to qualify for the NCAA Championship. They would then go on to finish 13th of 30 at the championships in Arkansas later that month.
This year, the Buckeyes feature a mix of youth and experience. Freshman Maxwell Moldovan leads the team in scoring at 71.57. He has been joined in the lineup by fellow freshman Adam Wallin as well as sophomores Jackson Chandler and Patrick Schmucking. The experience comes from graduates Felix Kvarnstrom and Elis Svard who have both played in over 40 collegiate events in their careers.
