COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State baseball team (25-22, 14-12 Big Ten) fell to Michigan State (19-29, 11-18 Big Ten), 7-4, on Saturday in game two of the series.

- Dane Harvey had the first hit of the game for the Buckeyes, leading off with a single up the middle in the bottom of the second inning.
- The Spartans took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning after scoring on a sacrifice bunt.
- In the bottom of the third, Lee Ellis led off with a solo home run to tie the score, 1-1.
- Noah Furcht doubled to left field to lead off the bottom of the fourth frame. A sacrifice fly from Maddix Simpson sent Furcht home to give the Buckeyes the lead, 2-1.
- In the top of the fifth, however, the Spartans got back ahead, taking a 5-2 lead after an RBI single and a three-run home run.
- Grant Mangrum led off with a home run over the left field wall in the bottom of the fifth inning to cut the Spartan lead to two, 5-3.
- A two-run home run from Michigan State in the top of the seventh innings put them ahead of the Buckeyes by four runs, 7-3.
- With one out in the bottom of the sixth, Simpson doubled to left center. A single from Mason Eckelman plated Simpson to put Ohio State within three runs of the lead, 7-4.
- The Buckeyes were retired in order in the remaining three innings as the Spartans came away with the 7-4 win to tie the series at one game apiece.
- Eckelman led the Buckeyes with two hits.
- Simpson, Ellis, Eckelman and Mangrum each had one RBI.
- Chris Domke (5-6) took the loss on the mound. He struck out four and gave up five runs on 10 hits in 5.0 innings pitched.
- Jake Michalak struck out three and allowed two runs on one hit in 4.0 innings of relief.
- The rubber match between the Buckeyes and the Spartans will be on Sunday, May 10 at 1 p.m.
