COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State baseball team (23-21, 12-11 Big Ten) downed No. 16 Nebraska (34-13, 17-6 Big Ten), 7-3, on Saturday night to secure a series win against the Cornhuskers for the first time since 2018.

- Alex Bemis led off the bottom of the first with a single through the right side. Henry Kazcmar and Dane Harvey were walked to load the bases. A triple from Mason Eckelman cleared the bases and gave the Buckeyes the early 3-0 lead over the Cornhuskers.
- Nebraska got on the board in the top of the third inning after an RBI single to cut the Ohio State lead to two, 3-1.
- Harvey brought the Buckeye lead back to three, 4-1, with a solo home run in the bottom of the third frame.
- In the top of the seventh, the Cornhuskers scored on an RBI groundout to put the Buckeye lead back at two runs, 4-2.
- Eckelman led off with a double to right field in the bottom of the seventh and he advanced to third on a fly out from Grant Mangrum. A single into left center from Miles Vandenheuvel plated Eckelman to give Ohio State a three-run lead once again, 5-2.
- With two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning, Maddix Simpson singled up the middle. A long ball from Eckelman over the right field wall extended the Buckeye lead, 7-2.
- Nebraska added one run on a bases-loaded hit by pitch in the top of the ninth, but the Buckeyes got out of the jam to earn the 7-3 victory.
- Eckelman led the Buckeyes with three hits and five RBIs. He was just a single shy of hitting for the cycle.
- Chris Domke (5-5) earned the win on the mound. He struck out two and gave up just two runs on four hits in 7.0 innings pitched.
- Nick Sawyer fanned two in 1.0-inning relief appearance.
- The Buckeyes wrap up their series with the Cornhuskers on Sunday, May 3 at 2 p.m.
