Buckeyes Take 5-4 Win Over No. 25 Washington

The victory marks the second series in a row that opened with a ranked Ohio State win
The offense penned a team effort, with RBI by four different Buckeyes. Sami Bewick led on that front with one hit and two RBI, as Izzy Neal went 2-3 with a run scored. Hadley Parisien and Kiki Estrada also added hits.
Lorin Boutte got the complete game win, improving to 7-5 on the year. Boutte fanned four and allowed eight hits.
How it Happened
- After 2.5 innings of scoreless softball, the Buckeyes plated five runs in the bottom of the third, with Lottie Landmesser and Izzy Neal scoring on bases-loaded walks. Sami Bewick scored Abbie Wilhelm and Hadley Parisien on an RBI double to left, followed up by a Kiki Estrada single that scored Taylor Cruse.
- Washington got back two runs in the top of the 5th on a Giselle Alvarez two run home run.
- Washington cut the lead to one in the top of the seventh on an Alexis DeBoer two run home run, but a runner caught at second ended the game with the Buckeyes on top.
- Lorin Boutte got the start and the win for Ohio State, with Morgan Reimer (22-7) getting the loss for Washington.
Ohio State will look to take the series in a 2 p.m. rematch with Washington. The game will feature a min-bat giveaway for the first 125 fans in attendance.
