Buckeyes Fall to Bowling Green

Game Recap
- The Falcons took a quick lead in the top of the first inning, getting ahead of the Buckeyes 6-0 after an RBI single, a bases-loaded walk, a two-RBI single and two runs scored on an Ohio State error.
- Alex Bemis led off the bottom half of the first inning with a walk, Noah Furcht followed it up with a walk himself, but an inning-ending double play left the Buckeyes scoreless.
- Bowling Green added another run in the top of the second after an RBI single to extend its lead, 7-0.
- Miles Vandenheuvel had the first hit of the day for the Buckeyes with a single down the left field line in the bottom of the second.
- In the bottom of the third inning, Bemis went yard to put the Buckeyes on the board and cut the Falcon lead back to six, 7-1.
- In the top of the fourth, the Falcons extended their lead back to seven, 8-1, after a score on a sacrifice fly.
- Harvey singled through the right side to lead off the home half of the fourth for the Buckeyes. Lee Ellis reached on a fielder's choice and, with two outs, Vandenheuvel sent one out of the park, sending two runs home to leave the Buckeyes trailing by five, 8-3.
- Bemis and Furcht were both hit by pitches to reach base in the bottom of the eighth inning, but they were left stranded.
- Bowling Green added one more run in the top of the ninth on a solo home run to take a 9-3 lead over the Buckeyes.
- With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Vandenheuvel reached base on a Falcon error, but the next Buckeye was retired as Ohio State's winning streak was snapped at seven games.
- Vandenheuvel led the Buckeyes with two hits and two RBIs. His long ball was his first home run at Bill Davis Stadium.
- Bemis' home run was his team-leading seventh homer of the season.
- Ryan Butler (0-1) took the loss. He pitched 0.1 innings, giving up three earned runs on four hits.
- Lincoln McVicker and Zach Weber combined for 4.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen. The pair gave up just two hits. McVicker struck out three.
- The Buckeyes host Penn State for a three-game conference series Friday, April 10-Sunday, April 12.
