COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State baseball team (18-15, 8-6 Big Ten) evened its against Penn State (10-22, 4-10 Big Ten) with a 3-2 victory on Saturday afternoon at Bill Davis Stadium.

Game Recap

Alex Bemis walked to lead off the bottom of the first inning for the Buckeyes. Henry Kaczmar was then hit by a pitch to put two runners on. Bemis and Kaczmar executed a successful double steal to get into scoring position. Noah Furcht was then hit by a pitch to load the bases. With two outs, a sacrifice fly from Dane Harvey scored Bemis to put the Buckeyes on the board, 1-0.
In the bottom of the third, Kaczmar reached base on a fielder's choice and he advanced to second on a wild pitch. With one out, Furcht down the left field line and sent Kaczmar home to give Ohio State a 2-0 advantage over Penn State.
Penn State scored in the top of the sixth on a sacrifice fly to cut the Buckeye lead to one, 2-1. With two outs and bases loaded for Penn State, Nick Sawyer took over on the mound and got the inning-ending strikeout.
In the bottom of the eighth inning, Kaczmar walked and Furcht singled to right center to lead things off. Grant Mangrum then hit a sacrifice bunt to advance both runners. A sacrifice fly from Maddix Simspon scored Kaczmar to put the Buckeyes up by two, 3-1.
The Nittany Lions plated one run in the top of the ninth on an RBI double, but with one runner in scoring position, Ryan Zamora got the game-ending strikeout to secure the 3-2 victory for the Buckeyes.

Saturday was catcher Mason Eckelman's 100^th career game in the Scarlet and Gray.
Furcht led the Buckeyes with two hits.
Furcht, Harvey and Simpson each had one RBI.
Chris Domke (4-3) earned the win on the mound. He struck out three and allowed one run on seven hits in 5.2 innings pitched.
Sawyer struck out two in 1.1 scoreless innings.
Zamora earned his second save of the season. He struck out two and gave up one run on two hits in 2.0 innings tossed.
