COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State heads to the pacific northwest to participate in the 104th Big Ten Championship at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains, Ore. The 54-hole event will run May 1-3 and the final round will feature live coverage on the Big Ten Network.
- Ohio State’s lineup this week will be Vaughn Harber, Giedrius Mackelis, Jack Vojtko, Tyler Sabo, and Finley Bartlett.
- The Buckeyes have won the Big Ten Tournament 23 times, but not since 2004. Individually, 18 Buckeyes have claimed medalist honors. Howard Baker (1945, 1947) and John Cook (1978, 1979) each won the title twice.
- Last year, the Buckeyes finished fifth at Baltimore Country Club, led by a seventh-place finish by Tyler Sabo.
- The Buckeyes have had a pair of runner-up finishes this spring, including at the Robert Kepler Invitational earlier this month.
- Harber and Sabo are both averaging sub-72 this season. Harber tops the team with eight rounds in the 60s and Sabo leads with 15 rounds at par or better.
- Mackelis has played well in his first collegiate season, averaging 72.30 with a pair of Top 20 finishes.
- Bartlett is also making his Big Ten Championship debut. He has played in seven events this season and has a pair of Top 20 finishes this spring.
- The forecast looks perfect for the weekend with very little chance of rain and temperatures in the 70s and 80s.
