COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State returns to action this week at the Cal Poly Preserve Golf Club Collegiate, Oct. 26-27, at The Preserve Golf Club in Carmel, Calif. The tournament will consist of 36 holes on Monday and a final round on Tuesday.
- The Buckeyes' lineup this week includes Timotej Formanek, Jack Vojtko, Tyler Sabo, Vaughn Harber and Giedrius Mackelis. Joe Wilson IV will play as an individual this week.
- This will be the third time the Buckeyes have played in the event in the last five years. They finished 6th in 2023 behind a 15th place finish from Maxwell Moldovan and won the inagural event in 2022 as Adam Wallin claimed medalist honors.
- Ohio State played well at the Fallen Oak Collegiate last week before ultimately finishing in 10th place.
- This will be the final event of a solid fall season for the Buckeyes.
- Formanek has competed in two individual events this fall and owns a 72.00 scoring average across five rounds.
- Vojtko has been one of Ohio State's most consistent performers with a 72.44 scoring average and team-leading two top-10 finishes. The senior tied for 18th at the Folds of Honor Collegiate and tied for sixth at the Inverness Intercollegiate while counting in eight of nine team rounds.
- Sabo is the only player on the team to have all nine rounds count towards the team score this fall. He is averaging 73.00 and has a team-leading five rounds at par or better.
- Harber owns a 72.89 scoring average and captured a fourth-place finish at the Folds of Honor Collegiate after firing rounds of 65-71-70 to finish 7-under par. He also went a perfect 3-0-0 in match play at the Barbara Nicklaus Cup and leads the team with a 65 low round and one top-five finish.
- The forecast is calling for temperatures in the mid-60s with very little chance of rain. The hills of Carmel, California provides one of the most beautiful settings in collegiate golf.
