
Ohio State Set to Host Jesse Owens Classic This Weekend

The Buckeyes will host 23 teams at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium Friday and Saturday.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track and field team is hosting the Jesse Owens Classic at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium this weekend. Parking and admission are free for all fans on both Friday and Saturday.
Friday's field action begins at noon with the women's javelin throw and men's hammer throw, while track events will start at 4:30 p.m. with women's 400m hurdles. Saturday's schedule commences with the women's shot put and men's discus kicking off field events at 10:30 a.m. Track events will begin at 1 p.m. with women's 100m hurdles. There will also be a recognition for Ohio State seniors at 5 p.m. Saturday, prior to the start of the men's and women's 4x400m relays.

- Nazzio John, Kyler Brown, Nick Biega and Braxton Brann secured Ohio State's first title in the College Men's 4x100 Championship of America at the Penn Relays since 1932, crossing the line in 39.56.
- Edidiong Udo, Noah Carmichael, Mason Louis and Brann placed first in the College Men's 4x400m Championship of America with a time of 3:05.85.
- Morgan Hallett registered a PB mark of 54.82m/179'10" to win the A division women's shot-put competition at the Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational last weekend.
- Sophie Bidwell recorded a PB mark of 58.94m/193'04" in the A division women's hammer throw in Louisville, earning a first-place finish.
- Janela Spencer is currently ranked fourth in the country in the women's 100m hurdles with her time of 12.82 (+3.0) recorded at the Tom Jones Memorial.
- Brann has the 10th best men's 110m hurdle time in the nation after registering a 13.42 at the Tom Jones Memorial.
- Aniya Mosley's program record time of 4:08.54 in the women's 1500m at the Raleigh Relays has her ranked 12th in the country in the event. Katie Castelli also established a program-best time in Raleigh, finishing the women's 3000m steeplechase in 10:04.34 and is ranked 25th.
- DJ Fillmore currently has the 15th best men's long jump mark in the country, recording a distance of 7.86m/25'9.5" (+2.5) at the Texas Relays.
- Brown (10.12) and John (10.13) are ranked 18th and 22nd respectively in the men's 100m.
- The Buckeyes have four relay squads ranked in the TFRRS top 25, including in the men's 4x400m relay (11th and 22nd), men's 4x100m relay (14th) and women's 4x400m relay (22nd).
