Coleman records career point 100, Callaghan tallies career goal 200
COLUMBUS, Ohio –The Ohio State women's lacrosse team closed out its regular season nonconference schedule with a 17-6 win over Kent State Wednesday afternoon in Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium. The Buckeyes (9-6) never trailed in the game, with a 4-2 lead after one quarter and 8-3 advantage at halftime. Ohio State shut out the Golden Flashes (7-8) in the third quarter, part of a scoreless streak of 20:48, while scoring six times for a 14-3 lead through three quarters and each team scored three times in the final stanza.

It was a milestone day for some of the Buckeyes. Zoe Coleman had four points, with an assist in the second quarter the 100th point of her Ohio State career. Camryn Callaghan scored four times to reach the 200-goal mark for her collegiate career. Kate Tyack had a career-high eight points, on four goals and four assists. Abby Boyle recorded 10 draw controls to lead the Scarlet and Gray and Darrien Furiness caused three turnovers to pace Ohio State.

- Kent State tied the score at 7:53, with Ohio State notching the next two for a 3-1 lead at 6:59. Brooke Vinson assisted on a second player-up goal from Coleman at 7:18 and Kate Tyack found Kampbell Stone for a score at 6:59.
- The Golden Flashes ended the Ohio State run at 5:41 to draw within one (3-2).
- Ohio State notched the next three goals. Tyack tallied unassisted at 4:50 of the first for a 4-2 Buckeye lead and then converted a free position shot at 13:57 to open the scoring in the second quarter.
- Coleman's assist on an Isabelle Osborn goal at 7:18 was her 100th career point and came at 7:18.
- Kent State made it a 6-3 game at 5:02.
- Callaghan tallied three goals in a row, scoring at 3:13 (from Tyack) and :38 (assisted by Osborn) of the second and unassisted at 12:34 of the third for a 9-3 lead.
- Ohio State pushed the goal run to eight while shutting out the Golden Flashes for a 20:48 stretch.
- In the third, Tyack scored at 12:17 before an Annie Hargraves free position goal at 11:29. Tyack and Coleman connected for a score at 10:45.
- Hargraves and Callaghan (assisted by Tyack) scored in a 46 second span for a 14-3 Ohio State lead at 5:05 of the third. Callaghan's goal was the 200th of her collegiate career.
- Kent State ended its scoreless streak 46 seconds into the fourth, answered by Ohio State with a Tyack goal at 10:54.
- The teams traded goals twice more before the end of regulation.
- After a Kent State player up tally at 6:53, Kylee O'Donnell set up Lexie Kupka at 5:29.
- The final Golden Flash goal came at 4:04 and an Olivia Orso tally ended the scoring at 2:24.
- In the game, the Buckeyes outshot Kent State, 39-17, including 33-11 through the first three quarters.
- Jocelyn Torres played the first three quarters for Ohio State, picking up the win and making five saves on eight shots on goal. Camille Samarasinghe and Emmalynn Francis each saw time in the fourth quarter. Kent State's goalie made 13 saves.
- Ohio State recorded 21 of the 30 ground balls in the game, led by Audrey Rudolph with three and Tyack, Torres and Maeve Simonds with two each.
- The Buckeyes caused 11 turnovers – Darrien Furiness was first with three and Ella Wright and Torres each had two.
- Abby Boyle had 10 of the Buckeyes' 14 draw controls on the day.
- Coleman has 20 goals and 26 points on the year to move past the 100-point mark for her career. She is fourth on the team in goals and points this season. Her three goals vs. the Golden Flashes marked her ninth game with three or more goals and it was her seventh outing with four or more points.
- Tyack leads the Buckeyes with 27 assists and 64 points, ranking second with 37 goals, all career highs. The eight points vs. Kent State were a career best, passing the seven she had twice earlier this season. She now has 10 games with four or more goals and five games with four or more assists (with four assists in each of the last two games). Tyack extended her point streak to 21 with 49 goals and 77 points in the stretch and has multiple points in 13 of 15 games this year. She has 135 points as a Buckeye (95 g, 40a).
- Callaghan is first on the squad with 43 goals and second with 55 points, ranking third with 12 assists. Her fourth goal gave her 200 in her 67-game collegiate career, along with 41 assists for 241 points. It was her fifth game as a Buckeye with three or more goals and her fourth with five or more points. Callaghan has a point in each of her last 30 games, with an 81-18-99 line in the stretch.
- Boyle has a team-high 94 draw controls, the second-most in a single season in program history. She has 144 in her career to rank fifth in the Buckeye record book.
- Rudolph marked her career best with three ground balls.
- Stone is tied for fifth on the squad with 19 goals and has 15 games with multiple scores.
- Furiness' three caused turnovers were a career high.
- Hargraves has 20 multiple-goal outings as a Buckeye and now has 18 goals this year. Â
- Kupka's goal was her first since Feb. 16, 2024 at Youngstown State.
- O'Donnell's assist was her first collegiate point.
