COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 14 Ohio State men's lacrosse team picked up a top 10 victory on home turf Saturday, defeating No. 10 Johns Hopkins, 7-6, at Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium. With the win, the Buckeyes improve to 9-3 on the year and 2-2 in the Big Ten.

How it Happened
- Both teams' defenses were unbeatable in the opening minutes of the games. Both goalies made two saves to start the top 15 contest.
- Johns Hopkins scored the first goal of the day at 5:10 and doubled its lead a minute later.
- Walsh scored Ohio State's first goal of the game with 41 seconds to play in the first quarter, and was assisted by Struck, to cut the Hopkins lead to one after the first frame.
- Ohio State went on a four-goal scoring run through three quarters, starting with Walsh's goal in the first. A pair of goals from Struck (10:25) and Dillon Magee (2:39) in the second and the first goal of the third quarter from Struck (9:29) gave the Buckeyes a two-goal advantage five minutes into the third quarter.
- In the stretch, Ohio State held the Blue Jays scoreless for nearly 28 minutes. Fyock made seven saves in that time, including six in Hopkins' scoreless second quarter.
- The teams traded goals in the third quarter to finish the frame 2-2. For both Ohio State goals in the quarter, Johns Hopkins had a response, but the Buckeyes held a 5-4 lead entering the fourth.
- The game was tied with 11:40 to play in the game with Hopkins scoring its second straight.
- Ohio State was man-up after a push was called on the Blue Jays at 9:35 and Walsh needed just 15 seconds to put Ohio State back in front.
- With just over three minutes to play in the game, Dominic Shaw caused a turnover and Cullen Brown took the ball into the Blue Jays' half. He connected with Marinier, who sent a shot right over the crosse of Oran Gelinas for the two-goal Buckeye lead.
- Hopkins scored with 29 seconds on the clock to pull within one of the Buckeyes. The Blue Jays won the ensuing faceoff, but Fyock made a save with 10 seconds on the clock to secure the Ohio State win.
- Ohio State's win over Johns Hopkins in Columbus is the team's first victory over the Blue Jays at Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium, and its first home win in the series since 2022. The team is now 9-11 in the all-time series.
- Saturday's game is Ohio State's third in four weeks decided by one goal.
