COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 9 Ohio State men's lacrosse team closes its latest chapter of the 2026 season Friday, hosting its conference and regular season finale against Michigan on April 17. The Buckeyes (9-3, 2-2 B1G) and Wolverines (5-7, 2-2 B1G) face off at 6 p.m. from Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium.

Buckeyes In a Nutshell
- Ohio State defeated then-ranked No. 10 Johns Hopkins, 7-6, in its last game. The team held the Blue Jays to their lowest scoring outing of the season, with Caleb Fyock making a season-high 14 saves.
- Fyock was named the Big Ten Specialist of the Week and to the USILA Team of the Week for his performance against Hopkins. The game was his second of the season with at least a .700 save percentage and he added a season-high five ground balls and two caused turnovers on the day.
- In Tuesday night's PLL College Draft, Ohio State had two players picked in the top 20 for just the third time. Cullen Brown went 14th overall to the California Redwoods and Blake Eiland was selected 19th by the Maryland Whipsnakes. Ohio State has produced eight Premier Lacrosse League draft picks and 30 total picks across the PLL and Major League Lacrosse.
- Forty-three members of the 2026 men's lacrosse team were named Ohio State Scholar-Athletes for the 2025-26 academic year. The honor is awarded to those who record a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Among the Buckeye Lacrosse honorees, Taji Flynn, Matt Mayfield and Bobby Van Buren were recognized for perfect 4.0 GPAs. Also announced Monday were the Ohio State finalists for the Big Ten Medal of Honor, with Brown representing the men's lacrosse team as a finalist for the prestigious award.
- Garrett Haas has a career-high 39 points this season to lead the team in scoring. His 17 assists are also a team high and he is second on the team with 22 goals. Haas is third in the Big Ten with 3.25 points per game and fourth with 1.42 assists per game.
- Leading the Buckeyes in goals scored this year is Alex Marinier with 23. The graduate attackman also has a team-high four man-up goals, a mark that is first in the conference.
- While Haas and Marinier are the two Buckeyes this season with goals in every game, sophomore Liam White has a point in every Big Ten game this year and freshman Jake Struck has points in three of the team's four conference contests. Jackson Walsh has added four goals in the last two games for the team.
- There is a four-way tie for second in the Big Ten between the Buckeyes, Wolverines, Johns Hopkins and Penn State knotted at 2-2 entering the final weekend. A share of the Big Ten regular season title is still up for grabs as well as the first-round bye in the Big Ten tournament.
- The Buckeyes are also playing to keep the Creator's Trophy in Columbus. The Creator's Trophy is contested annually between the Buckeyes, Michigan and Penn State as the original Big Ten men's lacrosse programs. Friday's game between the Buckeyes and Wolverines will determine where the trophy will reside for the next year.
- Ohio State will recognize 12 seniors prior to Friday's game. Being recognized are Jackson Birtwistle, Cullen Brown, Jake Cohen, Johnny Cool, Blake Eiland, Taji Flynn, Dan Kelley, Griffin Liedel, Dillon Magee, Alex Marinier, Russell Melendez and Logan Soelberg.
- The Buckeye defense continues to pace the country with the best goals-against average on the year. The team has allowed just 7.00 goals per game and is one of three teams in the country with a scoring defense under eight a game. Ohio State has held 11 of its 12 opponents this season to single digit goals. Fyock's 7.34 goals against average is the best in the country.
- Ohio State leads the league with a .916 clearing percentage, and .750 win percentage. Brown's 1.83 caused turnovers per game are a Big Ten best. Brown, Jack Oldman and Matt Mayfield are top 10 in the Big Ten in ground balls per game, with Olman first in the conference with 5.42 followed by Mayfield in fourth with 4.09 and Brown seventh with 3.58.
- Head coach Nick Myers is in his 18th season leading the Scarlet and Gray. In his Ohio State career, he has led the team to a 154-113 record. He is assisted by associate head coach Travis Crane and assistant coaches James Purpura and Justin Tuma.
- The team is captained by Cullen Brown, Blake Eiland, Taji Flynn, Alex Marinier and Bobby Van Buren.
- Ohio State is 21-9 against Michigan all-time with a 12-3 mark at home. Â
- The Buckeyes won the last meeting, 10-8, in Ann Arbor to bring home the team's first Big Ten regular season title.
- The rivalry matchup has been the final meeting of the regular season for six of the last eight seasons.
The Buckeyes will play in the Big Ten Tournament next, with their seed in the tournament to be determined following the conclusion of the regular season on Saturday. The top two teams in the regular season standings earn a first round bye into the tournament semifinals. First round games between seeds three through six will be held on the campus' of the higher seeds on April 25. The Big Ten Tournament semifinals and finals will be played April 30-May 2 and hosted by Rutgers at SHI Stadium.
