
Six Home Runs Power Buckeyes to Run Rule Win over Bowling Green

The offense registered 18 runs on 15 hits
Both Sara Tarr and Hadley Parisien registered two home runs, going back-to-back on home runs in back-to-back innings. Emma Tolley hit her fourth home run of the season on a first inning grand slam, the first grand slam this season since Sara Tarr's against Army on Feb 7. Lottie Landmesser would also get in on the home run action, sending a three-run shot out of Buckeye Field for her second bomb of the season.
Tolley led the day with five RBIs, joining Parisien, Skylar Limon, and Tarr for players with multiple hits on the day.
Lorin Boutte got the start, but it was Kennedy Kay who would pick up her third win of the season in the contest. Both Kay and Boutte saw two innings of work, with two earned runs allowed apiece. Boutte struck out four, with Kay striking out two. Buckeye newcomer Carter Wachtel tossed the final inning, striking out one.
How it Happened
- Bowling Green took 2-0 in the first inning on an Ashley Chevalier RBI single that scored Cameron Kaufman and a based loaded hit batter.
- Ohio State retook the lead in the bottom half of the inning via an infield single that scored Hadley Parisien and an Emma Tolley grand slam that brought in Cruse, Sami Bewick, and Abbie Wilhelm.
- The Buckeyes plated another five runs to take a 10-2 in the second inning via a Bewick double that scored Parisien, a Tolley single that scored Bewick, and a Lottie Landmesser three run home run that brought in Tolley and Kiki Estrada.
- Sara Tarr and Hadley Parisien went back-to-back on solo home runs in the third inning, increasing the Ohio State lead to 12-2.
- Bowling Green got three runs back in the top of the fourth on a two-run triple by Hannah Hunt and a RBI single by Addie Martin to score Hunt.
- Ohio State exploded for another six runs in the fourth inning, with a Tarr home run that scored Skylar Limon and Landmesser, followed up by another Parisien solo shot and run scoring hits by Kailea Ricks and Izzy Neal that brought the score to 18-5, Ohio State.
- Bowling Green would push two runs across in the top of the fifth with a Kaufman single that scored Hanna Massaro and a bases-loaded walk, bringing the final score to 18-7.
- Kennedy Kay (3-4) got the win, striking out two and allowing two earned runs over two innings pitched. Lorin Boutte got the starting nod, striking out four and allowing two earned runs. Carter Wachtel pitched one inning in relief, striking out one and allowing two earned runs as well.
Ohio State will hit the road for its fourth Big Ten series of the season to face Minnesota (13-21).
