COLUMBUS, Ohio – Having won five straight, Ohio State softball (15-18) looks to continue its momentum with two midweek against Bowling Green (15-14) and Dayton (15-12).
Each game will be available to stream on B1G+. Tuesday's game against Bowling Green will have free admission. Ohio State heads into week nine on a five-game winning streak, with three of those wins coming as shutouts against Big Ten foe, Michigan State. The series win marks the first time since 1994 that Ohio State has shutout a conference opponent in each game of a sweep. The last time also came against Michigan State.
The Buckeyes have put up 42 runs over the course of the win streak and are hitting .380 in that stretch. The streak includes 15 home runs, bringing Ohio State's season total to 70, which ranks second in the Big Ten and sixth nationally. Abbie Wilhelm and Taylor Cruse are currently tied for the most home runs on the roster with 13 apiece. Hadley Parisien is right on their heels with 11 home runs and a team-best OPS of 1.431.
Six hits in the Michigan State series skyrocketed Sami Bewick's batting average to a mark of .367 that is second only to Abbie Wilhelm (.375) among Buckeyes who have played at least 75% of this season's games. Wilhelm also leads the roster with 30 RBI, with both Parisien and Bewick holding 27.
Freshman pitcher Jenna Molk has won each game of the current streak, holding 12 of Ohio State's 15 wins this season. Molk did not allow a single run against Michigan State, posting a .30 ERA for the week. Michigan State only managed a .133 average against Molk, who is holding hitters to a .267 average on the year. Molk's 3.04 ERA, 86 strikeouts, and 108.1 innings pitched lead the Buckeye pitching staff.
Scouting the Falcons and Flyers
Bowling Green is 15-14 so far in the 2026 season, including wins over Buffalo, Western Michigan, and Central Michigan. The Falcons are currently 3-6 in MAC play. The BGSU offense is hitting a collective .272 with 20 home runs and 160 runs scored. Taylor Benhrendt leads the offense, batting .337. Addie Martin, who is swinging .333, holds team bests in both RBI (27) and slugging (.726). The Bowling Green defense is allowing an opponent batting average of .288 with a combined ERA of 3.71. The Dayton offense combines for a .274 batting average, compared to an allowed average of .253. Deidre Flaherty leads the squad in both average (.360) and RBI (20). She is among three total Flyers with a batting average over .300, including Kirnan Bailey (.352) and Juliana Gonzalez (.306). Izzy Kemp is Dayton's winningest pitcher, with nine wins and 13 starts. Kemp's standout 1.55 ERA and 151 strikeouts each lead the Atlantic 10 conference.
