Buckeyes Secure Series Win Against Golden Gophers

Game Recap
- With two outs in the top of the first inning, Noah Furcht singled to left field and then stole second. Mason Eckelman singled to left field to send Furcht home and put the Buckeyes on the board. Dane Harvey stepped up to the dish next, and he sent a moonshot over the right field wall to send two runs home and give the Buckeyes a 3-0 lead.
- CJ Reid led off with an infield single in the second inning, but there was nothing else doing for the Buckeyes.
- With one out in the top of the third, Hery Kaczmar walked and stole second, but he was left on base.
- In the top of the sixth inning with one out on the board, Furcht was hit by a pitch. Eckelman then doubled down the left field line to put two runners in scoring position. An RBI groundout for Harvey sent Furcht across home plate to extend the Ohio State lead, 4-0.
- Minnesota scored one run in the bottom of the seventh on a solo home run, but Ohio State maintained the lead, 4-1.
- Alex Bemis walked and Kaczmar was hit by a pitch to lead off the top of the eighth inning. Bemis advanced to third base on a Minnesota error to put runners on the corners. Furcht then drew a walk to load the bases for the Buckeyes. Eckelman and Harvey drew back-to-back walks, sending two runs home, followed by an RBI fielder's choice for Maddix Simpson to plate another run and put the Buckeyes ahead by six, 7-1. Eckelman then scored on a wild pitch to extend the Ohio State lead, 8-1.
- In the top of the ninth, Grant Mangrum led off with a double to left field. With one out, Kaczmar singled through the right side to send Mangrum home and extended the Buckeye lead to eight, 9-1.
- Minnesota got two runs across in the bottom of the ninth on an RBI single and a sacrifice fly, but the Buckeyes came away with the 9-3 win.
- After his single in today's game, Kaczmar has extended his hitting streak to 13 games.
- Eckelman and Furcht led the Buckeyes in hits with two each.
- Harvey had a team-high four RBIs.
- Chris Domke (3-3) earned the win on the mound. He struck out three and gave up four hits in 5.2 scoreless innings.
- The Buckeyes and Golden Gophers close out their series on Sunday, March 29 at 2 p.m. ET.
