COLUMBUS, Ohio – Fresh off a 3-2 mark at the Ohio State Tournament, the Ohio State softball team (11-18) will look to continue its winning momentum with a midweek game against the Cal Golden Bears (10-22) on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Buckeye Bombers
Ohio State picked up three wins in the Ohio State Tournament, featuring two run-rule victories over Indiana State and an extra innings with over Campbell. Ohio State plated 39 runs total, with 13 home runs by seven different Buckeyes, four of which came from Hadley Parisien. Sami Bewick, Kiki Estrada, and Taylor Cruse each had two. Ohio State's 60 team home runs are good for second best in the Big Ten, with a cumulative .614 slugging percentage that ranks third.
Parisien has only played in 16 games this year, but in those games, she is swinging .415 with an OPS of 1.470. Parisien's 24 RBIs are tied for the most on the team, with her nine home runs coming in third.
Bewick's 10 hits in the tournament brought her batting average up 55 points for a mark of .345 that trails only Abbie Wilhelm (.375) among Buckeyes who have played 75 percent of this season's games. Of those players, six hold averages above .300, with Hailey Lang, Cruse, Wilhelm, and Bewick each boasting an OPS of .1000 or better. Skylar Limon also saw her batting average raise .50 to .333 following an eight-hit weekend.
The Freshman in the Circle
Jenna Molk (8-10) picked up all three of Ohio State's wins in the Ohio State Tournament. Molk leads the pitching stable in most categories, including wins, innings pitched (85.1), ERA (3.77) and strikeouts (70). She set new single-game strikeout highs for herself in each game against Indiana State, retiring six in the 10-0 win and then seven in the 11-1 win. In her eight wins, Molk has an ERA of 0.88.
On the Golden Bears
Cal comes to Columbus 11-18 with a 1-8 record in ACC play. Cal has played 12 games against ranked opponents in the 2026 season, which most recently includes three losses to No. 10 Florida State. The Golden Bears are hitting .268 as a unit, compared to an opponent batting average of .348. The Cal offense has four hitters swinging above .300, with Gator Robinson leading the pack at .341 with five home runs. On her heels, Anaya Togia is swinging .333 with five home runs and a team-best 20 RBI. Mya McGowan (3-7) leads the pitching stable in wins and innings pitched (49.0). Cal went 37-21 in 2025, finishing ninth in the ACC. The contest will mark a return to Buckeye Field for sophomore Layna Gerhard, who spent her freshman season as a Buckeye.
